This site is owned and operated by Stellenbosch Foods Private Limited. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. At American Chatline (“ACL”), we want to make your experience online enjoyable and safe. ACL is an online dating/social service designed to provide an easy way for our members to meet each other. To accomplish this, our members create their own unique profiles, and are able to communicate with ACL network members on our public chat forums. Also our matching technology provides members with matches based on their pre-selected criteria, or by random selection on the “meet the members” page.

ACL gathers the following types of information:

  1. Public Information: Information is provided by members when they register for our service via a short questionnaire. These are voluntary submissions requesting personal information so that we are able to provide a tailored and efficient service like profile picture, network, gender, name etc. This information supplied by members is intended to be used by visitors for searching and matching purposes. Public information cannot be used to identify a specific member by address, etc (except photograph, posting of which is voluntary). All other information is based on what the member wishes to share (likes and dislikes, location, employment, interests etc.) and what privacy setting is chosen. Your information also includes the information you choose to share on ACL, such as when you post a status update, upload a photo, video, post a comment, profile updates and upload anything on our public forums of ‘whats up’, ‘blue room’ or the ‘club room’.

  2. Private Information: We require an e-mail address to sign up with our website. You will be sent an ‘activation’ email after you register with our site. Once the site link is accepted, we can confirm that your email is valid and that your registration process is complete. You will need your email address to log in to ACL each time. We use member's email addresses to send system emails on behalf of other members. Email addresses are not disclosed to members (unless members keep this information open to the public). Email addresses may also be used in private correspondence with the user for customer service issues and to send news regarding our site or our group sites, but the users may choose not to receive such emails by unsubscribing.

  3. Tracking Information: ACL gathers information through log files and tracking information. These files contain absolutely no personal information. These include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. No information is personally identifiable.

  4. Cookies: We use “cookies” to keep track of information while you are visiting our website. Cookies are very small files placed on your hard drive that assist us in providing customized services. These are used primarily for statistical analysis. Any information shared will be in the form of mathematical data about our visitors and their use on our site and will not give out any personal details. They allow us to count the number of visitors to our site and determine repeat visitors from new visitors. They also allow us to track trends of users. Most cookies are "session cookies", meaning that they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a session. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits.
